Some BigPond customers using Windows Vista and XP have been unable to access Windows in Normal mode after downloading an anti-virus definition file that was corrupt.
This corrupt definition file was removed less than half an hour after going live on 5 March.
A patch has been created and the vendor of the software has provided trouble-shooting steps to assist customers who downloaded the corrupt definition file.
The patch removes corrupt files, then allowing users to restart their computer in normal mode.
BigPond FAQs including trouble-shooting information for any customers impacted by this issue can be found here.
Customers can call 13 POND for assistance.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers.
