This most recent hoax email is known to have the subject line: please update your BigPond credit card
The email advises Members that we were unable to process their most recent payment for their bill. It asks members to confirm and update billing information to prevent their service being interrupted.
The email directs you to a false BigPond page to login.
This email is designed to trick Members into providing their details which can then be used to gain unauthorised access to your service.

Some BigPond customers using Windows Vista and XP have been unable to access Windows in Normal mode after downloading an anti-virus definition file that was corrupt.
This corrupt definition file was removed less than half an hour after going live on 5 March.
A patch has been created and the vendor of the software has provided trouble-shooting steps to assist customers who downloaded the corrupt definition file.
The patch removes corrupt files, then allowing users to restart their computer in normal mode.
